THE BRIEF

For the 2015 edition of the Design Week in Milan, ASUSTEK Italy wanted to immerse the visitor in an interactive experience. The ZEN part of life was the main brand guideline; an intriguing philosophy that the brand wished to integrate in little details of their new products. We created three different backgrounds mixed into a single one, using matte painting techniques.
After rotoscoping and animating three still pictures to make them come to life, we integrated a very complex particular system simulating the “breath” of energy hidden behind the force of nature.

We modeled and textured the three devices, representing the new products. For the interactive side we decided to use the Leap Motion technology, able to detect the movement of the hand of the user. Three little notebooks (one for each part of the screen) gathered the data from the three sensors and sent them to three servers. In this way the user could move the cursor by moving his hand and could select three differents keywords from an on-screen menu. The result was a completely immersive installation, who contributed to the great success that the event had during the Design Week in Tortona Street, with more than 100.000 visitors in 7 days.
